15 Days - Vietnam at a Glance

This introductory tour covers the essentials of Vietnam in one compact programme. The fascinating city of Saigon will leave a mark on your soul as you explore its many historic landmarks. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Hoi An; this charming town offers wonderful architecture characterised by a harmonious blend of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese influences. Take a cyclo to the Imperial Citadel in Hue and enjoy a boat trip along the Perfume River. Discover Hanoi, a charming city renowned for its wide boulevards lined with trees and magnificent French villas. A tour to Vietnam would not be complete without a visit to beautiful Halong Bay, where you spend a relaxing day cruising its emerald waters. This tour will allow you to experience Vietnam’s history, culture and people, leaving you with many wonderful memories.

DAY 01: SAIGON ARRIVAL
Fly with Vietnam Airlines to Saigon for a four night stay. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our guide and driver to transfer to your hotel located in the city centre. Overnight at May de Ville Old Quarter in Hanoi

DAY 02: SAIGON DISCOVERY
Visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office to view the French Colonial architecture. Continue to the Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum. End the day at the lively Ben Thanh Market.

DAY 03: SAIGON – MEKONG DELTA
Travel to Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta. Explore the river by boat, passing stilt houses and fish farms. Paddle through palm-lined canals in sampans and walk through villages, where you can sample local tea. Later this afternoon you will return to Saigon.

DAY 04: SAIGON – CU CHI & TAY NINH
Explore the amazing network of the Cu Chi Tunnels. Later you will travel to Tay Ninh to experience the midday service at the colourful head temple of the unique Cao Dai religion.

DAY 05: SAIGON TO HOI AN
Fly to Danang and transfer to Hoi An, stopping at Marble Mountains en route. Tour Hoi An on foot, visiting an old merchant’s home, the Japanese Covered Bridge, Hoi An Market and a local Chinese temple.

DAY 06: HOI AN
Travel to Tra Que Village. Enjoy a walk through vegetable gardens and learn about traditional rural life. Return to Hoi An and enjoy the afternoon free at your leisure to wander through the town.

DAY 07: HOI AN TO HUE
Drive over the scenic Hai Van Pass to Hue. Enjoy a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City, built for exclusive use by the imperial family.

DAY 08: HUE TO HANOI
Visit the Royal Tomb of Minh Mang and Thien Mu Pagoda. Enjoy a cruise along the Perfume River before flying to Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam.

DAY 09: HANOI
Discover the city, visiting Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you pass by Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and tour Humble House on Stilts and One Pillar Pagoda. Drive to the serene Temple of Literature and enjoy a walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter followed by an evening performance of the famous Water Puppets, which have a history dating back thousands of years.

DAY 10: HANOI – HALONG BAY
Early this morning you will travel to the ‘Jewel in the Crown of Vietnam’, Halong Bay. Board a junk boat for a relaxing cruise through the limestone islets of the Gulf of Tonkin. After lunch on board, return to Hanoi.

DAY 11: DEPART HANOI
This morning is free at your leisure before you are transferred to Hanoi airport to board your departure flight home  or.

Laos Extension
DAY 11: HANOI TO LUANG PRABANG
Transfer to Hanoi airport for your flight to the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Luang Prabang, Laos. Tour the sights by tuk-tuk, visiting Wat Visoun, Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Sene and the National Museum. (L,D)

DAY 12: LUANG PRABANG
Travel to Kuangsi Waterfalls. Visit Ock Pop Tok Weaving Centre before returning to Luang Prabang. Later, climb Phousi Hill to view the sun set over the Mekong River and enjoy a traditional music and dance performance this evening. (B,L,D)

DAY 13: LUANG PRABANG
This morning cruise along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves. Return to Luang Prabang, stopping at the village of Ban Xang Khong en route. (B,L)

DAY 14: LUANG PRABANG
Rise early to view the Buddhist ceremony of Takbat and visit the local market. Enjoy the afternoon free at your leisure to further explore this charming town. (B,L)

DAY 15: DEPART LUANG PRABANG
This morning is free at your leisure before you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap which will connect with your overnight flight home (via Saigon). (B)
