03 Days - Hanoi Stopover

Even a short visit to Vietnam's capital city is well worth the time. Hanoi celebrated it's one thousand year anniversary in October 2010, and is known for it's many scenic lakes, and the lovely French colonial architecture is still widely seen today in many of the buildings, mansions, and villas. A fun ride on a cyclo through the streets of the Old Quarter is a unique way to experience most of Hanoi's original streets. Pass by silk shops, markets, restaurants, clubs and bars, and scenic Hoan Kiem Lake. Important sights to be explored are the Temple of Literature, which served as Vietnam's first university dating back to 1076, One Pillar Pagoda, a Buddhist temple considered one of Vietnam's famous, and Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex, site of the mausoleum where the body of the famous president lies in state. Also included during your stay is a Water Puppet Show, a long-standing tradition where lacquered wooden puppets appear to "dance on water." In the evening there are many excellent restaurants to choose from, and no visit would be complete without sampling some of Vietnam's tasty cuisine.

Day 01: Hanoi
Arrive at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport and transfer by sedan to your hotel in Hanoi.

Day 02: Hanoi
Full-day private tour of Hanoi City including a ride through the Old Quarter by cyclo (rickshaw). Visit the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex, Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House, Hoan Kiem Lake, and view colonial landmarks such as the Opera House and St. Joseph's Cathedral. A highlight today is a fun ride through the streets of the Old Quarter by cyclo. Finish the day by seeing a Water Puppet Show, a fantastic art form originating in Northern Vietnam but best seen in Hanoi. (breakfast, lunch).

Day 03: Depart Hanoi
Following breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Hanoi International Airport. (breakfast).
